Russell Brand Will Host VMA Again

I think Jonas Brothers should prepare themselves for -probably- another ‘humor’ from Russell Brand.
That’s because the British comedian-actor will be hosting MTV Video Music Awards for the second year in a row, as announced by the music network on Tuesday.
In a news release, MTV confirmed 34-year-old Brand as the host of the awards that will air live from stages set up around New York, including Radio City Music Hall, on September 13. And Brand responded the honor by saying that he feels “invigorated” to return as master of ceremonies for the live event. He said poetically, “It’s very bracing, like stepping into a warm — no, a cool — powerful ocean.”
The eccentric comedian was famously known from last year’s MTV VMA when he mocked the Jonas Brothers’ purity rings, and also the things that he said about former U.S. President George W. Bush, describing him as a “retarded country fella.”
When talked about what will he do with the Jonas Brothers this year, Brand said, “I’m gonna personally invite them because I love those boys.” Brand also gave a warning of the upcoming event, “There’s gonna be huge performances all over New York City. On Brooklyn Bridge, there will be a performance. You know that spike on top of the Empire State Building? Someone is gonna perform on top of that. … Its gonna be mind-blowing … get ready. I don’t know if you’re wearing a hat, but if you are, you should hold on to it.”
Beside announcing the host, MTV also said that this year’s awards would include performances by U.S. country pop singer Taylor Swift and British rockers Muse. Having a pretty good career in his hometown, Brand is now expanding his career in U.S., by taking roles in several movies such as Bedtime Stories and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Can’t wait for see Brand’s performance on this year’s VMA!
