In the progress of alleged assault to a female fan by Amy Winehouse, the British singer gave her side of the story yesterday.

The Rehab singer told the City of Westminster Magistrate’s court in London that she pushed a woman named Sherene Flash after a charity ball at Berkeley Square last September because she had been ’scared’ of her, but denied punching the fan in the face.

It was started when dancer Flash accused the 25-year-old songstress of punching her in the eye after she had asked Winehouse to pose for a photograph. Winehouse gladly fulfill her fan’s request, but said that when she asked for a minute to see a friend off, Flash refused.

The Grammy winner then described the situation through her experience, saying, “She lent down all over me. She had her face down by me. I didn’t know what she was going to do. She lunged at me and put her arm around me.” Winehouse also added, “I think she was being overly friendly, but that was intimidating, I was scared. She’s a big girl. She was just being overly presumptuous. I’m not Mickey Mouse, I’m a human being.”

The singer then said that she moved her left hand across her face, she pushed her right hand upwards, towards Flash. “I was like, ‘Do I get a choice in this, hello?’ I pushed her up, like away. I wanted her away from me. It was more like an indication of ‘leave me alone, I’m scared of you’. I meant to just get her away from me. I was scared. I thought, people are mad these days, people are just rude and mad, or people can’t handle their drink.”

Winehouse also said she felt intimidated in particular because she was shorter than Flash. She said she was only about five feet three inches tall. “And my hair does make a difference,” added the singer with beehive-haired trademark. Dressed in a gray suit and wearing the beehive hair style, Winehouse also denied that she was overly sensitive about her dressing room, saying, “I’m not like that. I’m not a Jennifer Lopez, paint the room white before I get there and I want five bunches of lilies.”

On the other hand, Flash said earlier that Winehouse appeared to be drunk or under the influence of drugs when the incident occurred. While Flash herself admitted that she had had several alcoholic drinks that evening but denied being drunk. Flash then detailed the moment she got hit, “She punched forcefully in my right eye. I started crying. I was shocked. I couldn’t open my eye for a while. I was just mainly in shock.”

Flash’s lawyer, Lyall Thompson said Winehouse seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or “some other substance” when she struck Flash in a dressing room at the event shortly after midnight. He continued, “This was a deliberate assault by Miss Winehouse. There was nothing accidental about Miss Winehouse’s actions. She acted with deliberate and unjustifiable violence.”

Flash told the court that she had been dancing at the event and then, later, went backstage with a friend to see if they could meet the Love is a Losing Game singer. Flash said that she had not touched Winehouse, and when asked by Winehouse’s lawyer Patrick Gibbs if she had “misread” the situation, Flash answered, “Even if I did, it doesn’t give someone the right to punch me in the face.” Flash called the cops and later saw a doctor. She said her right eye was slightly swollen after the incident.

Well… get well soon Sherene and may this case will give both parties the satisfying result soon later. :)
