Rachelle Lefevre Was Replaced for the Third Twilight Movie

Rachelle Lefevre
Twilight fans, get ready for a new Victoria.
Rachelle Lefevre, who played the villain vampire role in the first two films of Twilight Saga, will be replaced by another red-haired actress, Bryce Dallas Howard in the third movie entitled Eclipse.
30-year-old Lefevre said that she was “stunned” and “hurt deeply” by the switch that was announced by Summit Entertainment late Tuesday. The Canadian actress said that she was unaware of Summit Entertainment’s decision to choose someone else to play her part in Eclipse. While Summit’s camp said the decision was taken because of Lefevre’s scheduling conflicts.
Lefevre also said Wednesday that she was “fully committed” to returning as Victoria, saying that her involvement in another movie would only last 10 days. She then added, “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10-day overlap.”
A several hours later, Summit Entertainment released a statement that said “We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.”
According to Summit, Lefevre failed to inform the studio until July 20 that she was planning to be in Europe shooting an indie film when the Twilight cast and crew did some rehearsals. “It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to Barney’s Version, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June,” the statement continued. “Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.”
Will Rachelle get her role again? Fans supported her to be reinstated though, but I guess Summit has made their decision solid. So long Rachelle! :(
