Michael Jackson had decided in his 2002 will that he wanted his mother to care for the children, but following his death, Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe seemed to consider challenging Katherine Jackson’s custody.

But there’s a good news! The grandmother of Billie Jean singer’s children, Katherine Jackson and the mother of Jackson’s first two children, Debbie Rowe had finally reached an agreement and therefore avoided custody battle, just days before a court hearing on the matter.

79-year-old Katherine Jackson will receive full custody of the King of Pop’s three children; 12-year-old Prince Michael and 11-year-old Paris whose mother is Debbie Rowe, and 7-year-old Prince Michael II, whose mother is never been identified. Debbie Rowe, on the other hand, will have visitation rights with her kids based on a schedule worked out with a child psychologist. She also will receive continued spousal support from her marriage to the singer.

A statement released by Jackson’s lawyers, L. Londell McMillan and Diane Goodman said, “Mrs. Jackson and the family are pleased this matter is resolved and was handled in a caring, thoughtful and courteous manner by the parties and their representatives. We were all united in our goals to do what is best for Michael’s wonderful children, and both Mrs. Jackson and Debbie Rowe were on the exact same page. Accordingly, although important issues had to be resolved, this was no legal contest but rather simply a process doing the right thing for the right reasons.”

Rowe’s lawyer, Eric George, also said in a statement, “The parties engaged in a dignified discussion that resulted in a dignified outcome. The sole consideration between the parties was the best interests of the children. I’m proud to have worked with such professionals who represented Ms. Jackson, and I am particularly proud of Deborah for her integrity and selflessness.”

The custody agreement will be presented to a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Monday. Both sides expect the court to approve of the deal. We’re happy about the nice result!
