Black Eyed Peas

Black Eyed Peas must be proud, and their hearts must be racing Boom Boom Pow right now.

The R&B group have broken a new record with Boom Boom Pow as the longest successive stay at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a duo or group. The single had made BEP standing tall at the top for 17 week, after initially spending 12 at Number One, continued by five more weeks with second single I Gotta Feeling.

The new record beats the two 16-week that Boyz II Men spent at the top, first in 1994 and then in 1995/96. It also sit behind Usher who holds the overall record, having enjoyed 19 weeks at the top in 2004. This week, the Los Angeles-based quartet back again on top with current single I Gotta Feeling, knocking down JLS off the top of the UK’s Official Singles Chart.

The Top 10 Singles for this week are:

  1. Black Eyed Peas – ‘I Gotta Feeling’
  2. JLS – ‘Beat Again’
  3. Mr Hudson ft Kanye West – ‘Supernova’
  4. Pitbull – ‘I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)’
  5. Cascada – ‘Evacuate The Dancefloor’
