Jennifer Hudson Delivered a Baby Boy

A joyful song must be sung by Jennifer Hudson right now, as the singer and her fiance has blessed with the arrival of a baby boy. The Grammy-winning actress gave birth on Monday to her first child, David Daniel Otunga Jr., that was named after the baby’s father, David Otunga.

The news was confirmed Tuesday by Hudson’s publicist, Lisa Kasteler, who said, “The baby is beautiful and perfect. His parents are ecstatic.” Kasteler added that the baby weighed 7 pounds and 14 ounces (3.57 kilograms), but did not detailed about where the child was born.

This must be a very happy news for 27-year-old Hudson, who suffered a tragic deaths of her mother, brother and nephew on October last year. They were all slain in her native Chicago by her sister’s estranged husband, William Balfour, who is now charged with the killings. In this bittersweet world, Hudson won a Grammy award in Best R&B album category for her self-titled debut CD, four months after the murders.

The Oscar-winning star of Dreamgirls has been engaged for almost a year to actor David Otunga. And now, they have their first son. Congrats new mom and dad!
