Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn Headed for Divorce for the Third Time

Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn have reconciled for almost four months after the famous actor filed for divorce on late April, but apparently it couldn’t stay long enough.

This time, the couple could probably really headed the end of the road, and it’s Robin Wright who decided to put brakes on their marriage vehicle.

Robin Wright Penn filed the court papers in Marin County, California, on August 12. In her divorce petition, Wright Penn said that she and the 49-year-old actor had agreed to share custody of their minor son and divide their property. The pair have two children, 16-year-old Hopper Hack and 18-year-old Dylan Francis, but it’s only their minor son whose custody is relevant. The reason for the split is listed as irreconcilable differences, and Wright Penn is not seeking spousal support.

The couple married in 1996, and have quite a rocky marriage. The first divorce proceedings they did was in December 2007, but then withdrawn the petition because they got back together again a few months later. On his act filed for the second legal separation of their marriage earlier this year, Sean Penn called it as “an arrogant mistake.”

In an interview released Monday, the Princess Bride actress told More magazine that she had no plans to reconcile with her husband. As she said, “There’s no limbo anymore. There’s no time. I’m too old for this s–t.” Then she added, “I hit that crossroad a while ago—for Robin, the ‘I know what I don’t want’ [sign] was flashing neon lights. I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together.”
