Sad news is coming from Lindsay Lohan, whose home has been burglarized, again. This is the second time in three months, with the same case.

Police were called on Sunday around 6:30 a.m. local time to the Hollywood Hills home of the 23-year-old actress to investigate a burglary there. According to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood station, no one was home during the break-in, but no other details could be given about the crime.

A publicist for Lohan, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik confirmed that Lohan’s home was broken into Sunday while the actress and her younger sister, Ali, were away. Sloane-Zelnik said many of Lohan’s “personal belongings were taken without remorse,” and also said that police have been given the security surveillance video from Lohan’s home.

The Mean Girls actress’s dad informed that a safe was ripped off a wall in the home and that a couple of watches were taken. Michael Lohan believed that the theft was “an inside job”, because employees for his daughter had failed to turn on the house burglar alarm. About the incident, he was quoted saying, “I’m not going to put up with individuals violating my family. This is a personal violation and it has got to stop.”

On the other hand, Lohan’s mother, Dina, told People magazine’s website that a door was found off its hinges with handles removed. “Bags, shoes and jewelry were taken, too,” she said. “Thank God she wasn’t home.” Dina added that Lohan already was planning to move to “a safer place.”

The mother and manager, Dina Lohan also informed that the actress/singer’s condition post break-in is now okay, but upset. According to Dina, Lindsay is currently working on the 2010 crime thriller Machete, costarring Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba, and attended a birthday celebration in Malibu for a family friend before arriving home.

The previous burglary attempt was reported in May, where the suspects in that incident apparently were frightened off by the alarm, but not before intruders were captured on videotape trying to gain entry. Hopefully this will be the last time of a burglary. Lindsay Lohan should really upscaling her home security.

Stay safe, Linds!
