A funeral for DJ AM was held Wednesday afternoon Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in Los Angeles, attended by family members and friends. Best friend Travis Barker was definitely one of the mourners in the small and private ceremony.
Close family members of the late spinner, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, are reportedly holding a private service inside the mortuary before moving outside for the burial. Then shortly after 3 p.m., the ceremony began. Goldstein, who died last Friday at the age of 36, was interred in one of the city’s most prominent Jewish cemeteries, near the graves of Jack Benny, Milton Berle and Michael Landon.
A memorial for Goldstein will also be held Thursday evening at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles . An invitation of the private event read, “The format of the evening will be in the style of an open 12-step meeting.” It continued, “Adam’s friends both from his life in recovery, as well as those from other areas of his life are welcome. We ask only that everyone adhere to the tradition of anonymity and let what they hear there, and who they see there, stay there.”
The memorial which slated to begin at 7 p.m., is said will be a gathering to celebrate the life of the famous deejay. We’ll miss you, DJ AM… Rest in Peace.
