Even after he’s no longer with us, Michael Jackson is still ‘alive’ through his good deeds.

With the help of his beloved sister, Janet Jackson, both superstar helped raising a big amount of money to a gala charity. Organizers said, the event netted a total of $1.1 million (euro750,000) for the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR), a nonprofit organization that supports HIV/AIDS research.

Janet Jackson lent her star power to the charity event that was held on Monday, by chairing the fundraiser. A Dsquared jacket signed by her and other celebrities, and also snapped up by Diesel designer Renzo Rossof was sold for 36,000 euros (53,000 dollars). While a pair of handmade boots decorated with some 3,000 crystals, made for her famous brother but never worn by the late King of Pop, went for 10,000 euros (14,650 dollars).

During her brief appearance, the Feedback singer said, “I’d just like to thank everyone here in the global fashion community who’ve done so much to help amfAR and to support HIV/AIDS research. When this terrible pandemic began everyone … who was infected died of AIDS. Today with your help millions of people are living with HIV.”

She also said, “This battle needs all of us to be brave warriors.” The evening dinner was also attended by celebrities, such as; designer Donatella Versace, model Linda Evangelista and the notorious award-stealer, Kanye West.

Good job Miss Janet, Thank You!
