The famous Chandler Bing from Friends, will be back on the silver screen with a new sitcom. Perry reportedly will star in, co-write and executive produce the not-yet-be-named series.

It is said that the actor had conceived the project, in which he will play the self-involved manager of a second-rate sports arena who begins to re-evaluate his life on his 40th birthday. Perry himself turned 40 two months ago.

Perry will write the show with Rules of Engagement co-executive producers Alex Barnow and Mark Firek, and it is being pitched to networks this week. With this project, Perry is back on TV again, following his fellow Friends alumni, Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc. Cox is currently stars in ABC’s Cougar Town, while LeBlanc recently signed on to star in the Showtime/BBC series, titled Episodes.

Post-Friends, Perry had appeared in several movies, such as The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel, The Whole Ten Yards, alongside Bruce Willis. His most recent appearance was in 17 Again opposite teen heartthrob Zac Efron.

Well, good luck on the project, Matthew!
