Avril Lavigne Filed for Divorce

Apparently, Avril Lavigne won’t be getting a happy ending of her marriage.

The Complicated singer has filed for divorce from her musician husband, Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, after three years of marriage. In the petition that was filed last Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, 24-year-old Lavigne asked the court to deny spousal support to her estranged husband Whibley.

A source said that the couple who got married in July 2006 had been “growing apart for months. They have become more like business partners rather than husband and wife.” Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reason for the split, and Lavigne also said that their property rights are to be determined. Lavigne and Whibley have no children together.

Not only busy filing for a divorce, Lavigne is reportedly working on her fourth studio album, which is due out in early 2010. Keep up the good work, Avril!
