Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl Are Back Shooting Grey’s Anatomy

Great news for Grey’s Anatomy fans!

After delivered a baby girl last September, Ellen Pompeo is ready to return to the Grey’s Anatomy set this week, and continuing her role as dr. Meredith Grey. She will be back together with Katherine Heigl, a.k.a dr. Izzie Stevens, who is also a new mom since adopting a Korean baby last month.

A show insider shared, “They’re both back at work and everyone’s really happy to see them.” The new mommies are back in the sixth season of popular medical drama, although thanks to the production team’s planning ahead for Pompeo’s maternity leave, she didn’t seemed absent at all from the show.

Meanwhile, after taking five weeks off to film the romantic comedy Life As We Know It, Heigl’s character Izzie will return to Seattle Grace Hospital in the November 12 episode, the same episode where guest star Kim Raver will begin her role on the show.
