Mel Gibson and Girlfriend Welcomed a Baby Girl

Actor Mel Gibson welcomed an eighth child in the family.

The Braveheart actor and his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva are celebrating the birth of a daughter. The baby girl was born on Friday (October 30), a few weeks early from the Russian singer’s December due date.

This is the couple’s first child together, although 53-year-old Gibson already has seven children with his estranged wife, Robyn. While for Grigorieva, this is her second child, as she has a teenage son with former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton.

The Australian-raised actor had been married to Robyn for 28 years, but shocked the public when the wife filed for divorce in April. He stepped out publicly with Grigorieva shortly thereafter, and confirmed her pregnancy on The Tonight Show in May. Gibson has said that he and his wife split up three years ago, and he met 39-year-old Grigorieva in 2008 when she had been signed to his Icon Records label.
