Gabor’s Lawyer Blamed Madoff for Hefty Tax Bill

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a lawsuit against the legendary actress Zsa Zsa Gabor for her tax debts of more than $118,000. Gabor’s lawyer blamed the conman Bernard Madoff for that hefty tax bill.

The tax officials filed tax lien documents in Los Angeles last month in their attempt to recoup $118,000 Gabor owed. The 92-year-old former beauty queen has so far failed to repay her debt.

Gabor’s lawyer, Chris Fields, claims that the 2001-2002 tax bill is mostly caused by convicted swindler Bernard Madoff’s Ponzi scheme. Gabor and her husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt lost about $7 million in that scam investment.

Fields says Gabor and her husband are working out a payment plan with IRS.
