Singer Miley Cyrus’ tour bus crashed and killed one passanger. Cyrus is safe and sound, US police confirmed.
According to a Virginia State policeman Sergeant Thomas Molnar, the bus was hitting a main road in central Virginia when it suddenly overturned on Interstate 85, about 40 miles south of Richmond on Friday, November 20 at around 8:15 AM.
The driver was killed due to the accident, while one of the other nine was slightly injured and had been taken to a local hospital. On that bus were members of lighting team in Cyrus show production.
Sergeant Molnar said that the roads were slick at the time due to overnight rains, but it was unknown yet at press time if the driver died before or after the bus crashed.
Fortunately Cyrus was not on the bus. The Hannah Montana star was on another bus of the four-vehicle caravan.
Cyrus is expected to perform on Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina. Despite the accident, the concert is set to go on as planned, remarked an employee of the Greensboro Colisum Complex. The 16-year-old singer and her spokesperson could not be reached for comment at press time.
