Nicole Richie Will Star and Produce New Comedy

Nicole Richie will have a new comedy show coming up.

The former reality star announced on Monday night through her web site that she is set to star in and produce a new half-hour comedy for ABC.

She wrote, “I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project. I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing.” She also describing the show’s story, saying that it will focus on a young professional woman juggling her business and family relationships.

The show was the 28-year-old’s idea who’s inspired by lots of other women. As the mother of two explained, “Lately, I have been surrounded by many different women of all ages and walks of life. It amazes me to watch and observe how many different ideas there are about what a woman’s role should be in this era. I’ve taken these fascinating ideas, and compiled them into something that I think will be very special (and funny!). We’re still in the very early stages and I can’t wait to share more with you soon!”

Richie was no stranger to television world. After popularly known from The Simple Life alongside Paris Hilton, Richie has guest-starred on several other series, such as; Chuck, 8 Simple Rules and American Dreams.
