Sendhil Ramamurthy Will Star on New Comedy Series

Attention Heroes fans! looks likely, Mohinder Suresh will trade his power with comedy!

Sendhil Ramamurthy, the actor who play the Indian professor in Heroes, will headed to star a pilot of new comedy drama entitled Rex Is Not Your Lawyer. He’s reportedly joined the series as a regular.

Alongside Ramamurthy, Jane Curtin also has been cast in the pilot that will be directed by David Segel. Actor David Tennant will act as the show’s main character, Rex Alexander, a top Chicago litigator who begins suffering panic attacks and starts coaching clients to represent themselves in court.

Curtin will play Rex’s mother and mentor, a successful law professor who falls in love with Rex’s shrink (Jeffrey Tambor). While Ramamurthy will play an ambitious but good-natured lawyer who was in Rex’s shadow until Rex’s career switch and whose friendship with Rex becomes complicated when he falls in love with his pal’s fiancee (Abigail Spencer).

Although Ramamurthy is still very much obligated to Heroes, but given that both shows are at the same network (NBC), it’s safe to assume that he would be free to do the shooting of this new series if the pilot successfully picked up as a series for next season.
