Tatum O’Neal Got Caught in the Act!

The youngest Oscar winner, Tatum O’Neal, was arrested last Sunday with charges buying cocaine and crack. The 44-year-old-actress got busted near her Lower East Side luxury apartment at 7:30 p.m. by detectives from Manhattan South Narcotics on Clinton Street between East Broadway and Grand Street.

A source said, “When the police approached, she asked them, ‘You know who I am, right?’ Then she said, ‘I’m researching a part - I’m doing this for a part as a junkie’. Then she said she’d been clean for two years, and that she’d just came out today” Even more, the source added that she begged the detectives by saying, “Can’t we just forget about this?”.

The detectives found a pipe with her, but it was clean. And then they arrested the suspected drug dealer, Alan Garcia, 33. Both were soon escorted into the 7th Precinct and were expected to spend the night in custody. She was charged early yesterday with criminal possession of a controlled substance; Garcia with criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Tatum has been dealing with her addiction to drugs from her early years. After her Oscar-winning at the age of ten from the movie “Paper Moon”, she had been molested by a male friend of her father. Tatum also alleges physical and emotional abuse from her father, much of which she attributes to drug use, as quoted from her autobiography, “A Paper Life”.

We’ll see if this is just another old habit came back…
