Tyra Banks is Ending Her Daytime TV Talk Show
Are you one of The Tyra Show fans? if you are, this is a heartbreaking news for you.

Tyra Banks (N/A)
On Monday, former supermodel Tyra Banks, has decided to pull the plug on her show, The Tyra Show. As she wrote on her website, “This will be the last season of The Tyra Show. I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past five years…[Your] love and support is always felt by me and it’s given me the courage to take more exciting steps in my life. So I thank you for that.”
36-year-old Banks said that she’s sticking with hosting the reality show America’s Next Top Model, and is forming a new production studio, Bankable Studios, with plans to make movies. She added in the statement, “My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are.”
The syndicated The Tyra Show has been used to promote women’s issues, particularly body image and the media’s perception of how women should look. Last september, Banks took the weave out of her hair and appeared on the show with her natural hair. The talk show had also won a second daytime Emmy award in August for best informative talk show.
The fifth season will end in Spring 2010, with the next cycle of America’s Next Top Model reality show contest will start on the CW in February. Still on the statement, Banks thanked her fans for their support. “I salute YOU, my amazing family of viewers: Thank you so so soooooo much for your support and love. Without you, there never would have been a Tyra Show. I really love you all.”
Looks like queen of talk show Oprah Winfrey got herself a follower. In case you forgot, Winfrey announced last month that she’ll be shutting down The Oprah Winfrey Show on Sept. 9, 2011.
Ta ta, Tyra. We’ll miss you!
