Lauren Velez Cried over Michael C. Hall’s Illness

Dexter costar Lauren Velez shed her tears when she was asked about Michael C. Hall’s cancer diagnosis.

Velez, playing Lt. Maria LaGuerta on Showtime’s Dexter series, said that all these times Hall and his wife Jennifer Carpenter have kept Hall’s heart-breaking condition a secret the whole last year.

“You know they’ve always been incredibly private and kept to themselves, and he’s always been very private and throws himself into his work, so I knew nothing of it, and I don’t think anyone else did either,” says Vélez.

Vélez said she would attend the Showtime dinner on Friday, along with Hall and the rest of Dexter costars. They all are going to work on season five in May.
