Former Boston Legal Star Justin Mendell Died at 27

Sad news coming from Justin Mendell.

The actor is gone too soon, after being pronounced dead on the scene of a fatal car crash in Wisconsin. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department had confirmed that the former Boston Legal star was killed when his SUV went down an embankment off Highway 39 near Blanchardville and hit two trees.

Mendell was reportedly driving alone and apparently not wearing a seatbelt. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene around 8:30 a.m. after a call came in. The accident itself is believed to have occurred around 3 a.m., but reported hours later after a passerby spotted the wreckage. He was only 27.

A statement on his website said, “The family and friends of Justin Mentell thank you for visiting his site. Memorial services are being planned.” His funeral is expected to take place in Texas, his birth place.

Mentell was popularly known for his role as attorney Garrett Wells on drama series Boston Legal from 2005 to 2006. More recently, he was Terrell in the 2009 Disney movie G-Force. He was also a speed skater in his youth, having been a member of the U.S. Speed Skating’s junior national long track team.
