Hundreds of people said their final goodbyes to Marie Osmond’s son, Michael Bryan.

On Monday, a private funeral service was held for the 18-year-old, at a chapel near the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, Utah.

Speakers were giving their eulogies in front of about 450 guests. The grieving mother, Marie Osmond, briefly said, “Thank you for those beautiful 18 years.” Michael was one of five children adopted by Osmond and her ex-husband Brian Blosil, with whom she also has two biological children. They got divorced about three years ago, after two decades of marriage.

She also has a son with first husband Steve Craig, 26-year-old Stephen Craig, who also shared his eulogy to his step brother, “He was an intricate part of our family. Each member of our family and every person here is better for having met him.” Michael’s sister, 20-year-old Rachel Blosil also added, “He was a man of his word. He wasn’t a talker, he was a doer. He was reliable. He knew my hopes, he knew my dreams, my secrets, things that nobody knows. He was my best friend.”

The service concluded with Osmond and brothers Donny, Alan, Merrell, Jay, Wayne and Jimmy singing a traditional Mormon hymn. Their older brothers, Tom and Verl, who are deaf, signed the words.

Michael jumped to his death from his L.A. apartment building on Feb. 26. An official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy and toxicology tests. Following the funeral, Michael’s silver coffin was interred at East Lawn Memorial Hills cemetery in Provo. Mourners wrote personal messages to the teen on orange balloons, then released them into the sky.

Rest in Peace, Michael.
