Vonzell Solomon Got Detained at Airport Coz She Carried a Gun!

Former contestant in American Idol season 4, Vonzell Solomon, has got herself in trouble last Tuesday (6/10).

She was detained for an hour at Southwest Florida International Airport when security found an unloaded handgun in her purse. She was then got charged with a misdemeanor for carrying a weapon into the airport. They held her gun, but will be returned after the case completed.

Larry Goethie, her father/manager, gives a statement about the news, “Vonzell wants everyone to know that this was an honest mistake. She had a big purse and just didn’t realize that the gun was in it”.

Then he added information that Baby V, Vonzell’s nickname, actually has a permit for the weapon. As he said, “She’s a single woman, and she is sometimes in situations where she needs protection. She went through the classes for proper gun safety, and tries to do everything by the book”.

The Airport’s rep, Barbara-Ann Urrutia said “She was actually charged with a violation of her concealed weapons permit. It is a misdemeanor, so she was given a notice to appear in court at a later date”. If Baby V convicted, she would later have to pay a fine of up to $1,000.

Wrong place, wrong protection. Bring pepper spray next time, Baby V, it’s safer and definitely lighter.
