Amy Winehouse Suffers From Emphysema

After being hospitalized because of her collapsing, Amy Winehouse is suffering the early stages of emphysema, according to the father of troubled soul diva. Mitch Winehouse said in an interview published Sunday (6/22), that his daughter has damaged her lungs by smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes.

As quoted by The Sunday Mirror, Mitch said that Amy has early stage emphysema and an irregular heartbeat, and has been warned that she will have to wear an oxygen mask unless she stops smoking drugs.

His statements were, “With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes her lungs are all gunked up. The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity”.

On June 16th, the 24-year-old singer was rushed to the hospital after fainting in her London home. Mitch said about what happened, “When we got to the hospital a room was ready. Several doctors came in and checked to make sure she didn’t need any emergency treatment. They put her on a drip straight away because she was dehydrated. She said, “Don’t worry about me, dad. I know I’ve got to stop taking drugs now”.
