Amy Winehouse Is NOT Having Emphysema

Quite contradicting to what Mitch Winehouse has said on Sunday, that his daughter Amy Winehouse suffered from emphysema, the singer’s U.S.-based rep, Tracey Miller told The Associated Press yesterday, “She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema”, also added that Amy’s father had misspoken “out of his concern for her”.

Mitch had also ‘revised’ his statement when interviewed by BBC Radio 1, said: “Amy really hasn’t got emphysema, there’s traces of emphysema. Obviously, if she doesn’t quit smoking, it’s going to get worse, like everyone else … with patience her lungs will recover completely.” He added that she was covered in nicotine patches and is “flourishing” in response to treatments.

FYI, Emphysema is a lung disease caused primarily by smoking. It takes years to develop and is mostly seen in people over 45. Amy’s on the edge of it, so that’s why her smoking (plus doing crack) should be reduced (and finally avoided), cos it’s better to prevent than to heal, agree?!
