Kanye West Taking Home Two BET Awards
Despite his big-mouthed attitude, Kanye West definitely allowed to show his big pride too. The ‘Stronger’ singer grabbed not only one, but two awards at BET Awards this year. He was named Best Male Hip Hop Artist, and also shared Best Collaboration award with fellow rapper T-Pain for their “Good Life” track.
The singer who’s known for his striped glasses, praise his partner T-Pain while speaking his winning speech. “We’re blessed to be in this man’s presence,” Kanye West said about T-Pain, he called T-Pain as “a genius”. “I’ll let y’all know because I’m one of the kings of this game. My opinion counts”.
And for Lil Wayne who’s at the same nominations, West called him as “my fiercest competition”. “You scared me man”, West said. “Congratulations on selling over a million records. And they say hip hop is dead”, referring to Lil Wayne’s latest album, “Tha Carter III” who was sold 1 million copies (in only about a week sales) for the year’s best sales debut.
Another winner is Chris Brown, who got the Best Male R+B Artist, Alicia Keys got the Best Female R+B artist award, and from cinema world, Halle Berry and Denzel Washington were also winners – they got the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor.
