American Idol’s Ruben Studdard Got Married

American Idol’s Season 2 winner, Ruben Studdard, tied the knot with the woman he loves, Surata Zuri McCants at a Canterbury United Methodist Church in a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama.
The wedding took place at his hometown on Saturday (6/28) with 20 groomsmen at his side. The bride wore a white and ivory wedding gown. The groomsmen’s shirts and vests were black, while Studdard had a white vest and a white bow tie. The ceremony lasted about 30-minute, with no singing from the groom, just an exchange of vows, prayers and music provided by a string ensemble.
The 29-year-old singer who’s nicknamed ‘Velvet Teddy Bear’ while on American Idol met 30-year-old McCants in October 2006, when he was signing CDs at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta. After the wedding, Studdard will soon be busy. He is scheduled to release a new album later this year.
Looks like teddy bear has found a loving arm of a girl with lots of hugs, and definitely love. Congratulations Both!
