Remember the ‘easy listening’ and or ‘great to dance with’ tunes of Debbie Gibson, such as Electric Youth? In the following year since her success in the 90s, not much story about her, or about her music career.
You might never know this for a fact, but those who hearts Debbie Gibson are still very loyal to her. Especially one guy, Bassas Jorge Puigdollers who’s such a loyal fan, and also runs a fan club dedicated to Deb. Apparently, the loyalty has become obsessive… and it scares Deb.
Gibson claimed this 44 yr old man has attended all of her “nationwide performances” since 2002, where he often tries to go backstage to see her and get autographs. He also follows her to her hotel room.
And when Puigdollers came to the front door of the Gibson’s Los Angeles home Sunday, she had it. she called police “for fear of my life,” she wrote in court documents.
The Police Department granted Gibson an emergency protective order that expires Friday, according to her court papers. The emergency order allows Puigdollers to get within 10 yards of Gibson at her concerts, but he still must stay at least 100 yards from her home. Also, he aren’t allowed to contact her by phone or e-mail, and stop attending her concerts.
“I understand that she wants her privacy,” said Puigdollers, a taxi driver. “I would like to say I’m sorry. I don’t want problems and I don’t want to bother her so much.”
A hearing for Gibson’s request was scheduled for May 28. Puigdollers said he was not discouraged by Gibson’s attempt to restrict his concert-going. He plans to attend five Gibson concerts at a casino in Atlantic City in May.
It seems he already passed the line from likeness and became obsessive, SOOO NOT in a good way. It’s a good precaution to have a restraining order, especially the man seems very determined to stay ‘in touch’ with the singer. All the best for Debbie, and hopefully this man will soon come to his senses!
