David Cook Got a Shoe Deal
Following his success after winning this year’s American Idol, David Cook has just scored a global endorsement deal with Skechers.
The shoe company announced the news yesterday, and will use Cook’s tousled image to advertise its line of casual footwear through December 2009, including newly branded Skechers’ styles “that will reflect his personality, interests and appeal.” But no news about how much Cook got for the deal.
This 25-year-old former bartender will begin appearing in a fall campaign tied to the release of his first post-Idol album and the continuing American Idols Live! Tour 2008. He also will be seen on billboards and in print ads and in-store one-sheets.
Talking about the great commercial deal he got, Cook said, “I have always viewed Skechers as a cool company, so I am excited to be a part of their campaign.”
Cook is currently working with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic) and fellow singer Jesse McCartney on his upcoming album, which planned to be released in mid November of 2008. Still no news about the album title, though. Congratulations Cook, let’s get it cookin’!!
