The Dark Knight surrender to Tropic Thunder this week, after reigning for four consecutive weeks in the top of the box-office spot. Bat-Pod is slowing down, eventually.

The amazing Batman pulled in $16.8 million this week, making a total to $471.5 million in the pocket. The Dark Knight movie passed the original Star Wars ($461 million) and now stands as no. 2 on the all-time domestic charts, behind “Titanic” which grossed $600.8 million overall. (more…)

Natalie Portman develop her talent into something else other than acting, although it’s still not far from the movie industry.

The 27-year-old now directs, and her directorial debut will open the Venice International Film Festival’s short-film sidebar, with Portman expected to be on hand for the picture’s September 1 screening. (more…)

It was started when Amy Winehouse recorded a potential theme song for a future Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace”. She recorded the song with famous producer Mark Ronson earlier this year.

Too bad the collaboration didn’t came up with a happy ending. The partnership failed, and the track wasn’t chosen by the films producers. Added by Winehouse’s personal problems, her future success is nowhere near her. (more…)

The Dark Night

It seems very hard to stop BatPod from high speeding in the box-office!

The Dark Knight remained strong at the number one position at the cinema for the fourth straight weekend, grossing $26 million and bringing its overall domestic gross to $441.5 million.

The movie has just slides its way to the third top-grossing film of all time, surpassing the previous third-ranked “Shrek 2″, perhaps only a week away from trumping “Star Wars” for second place. The original “Star Wars” earned $461 million, including rereleases, which can be take taken down (quite) easily by the end of the week if “The Dark Knight” keep its current pace. (more…)

He has agreed to join in Quentin Tarantino’s latest project, “Inglorious Bastards”. Pitt will play as Lt. Aldo Raine, the head of the Jewish resistance in the movie about World War II. Pitt’s character is a Southern rebel who leads a band of eight Jewish American soldiers as they exact vengeance on Nazis in German-occupied France. (more…)

Despite the Joker said, “Why so serious?”, Batman’s sequel The Dark Knight is damn seriousssss in the box-office. The movie about Gotham’s superhero (slash vigilante) broke another record by surpassing the $400 million mark in just 18 days. That’s not even in three weeks people!

As informed by Exhibitor Relations, the Batman movie grossed another $6.3 million on Monday, bringing its overall domestic total to $400,038,494. Yap, THAT MUCH! The Dark Knight became the fastest film to reach $100 million, $200 million, $300 million, and now, the fastest film to $400 million. Big 400. (more…)

The everlasting beauty, Demi Moore, is spreading her wings to not only act, but also direct. 45-year-old Moore participates on Glamour magazine’s fourth annual Reel Moments series, as a director for a short film.

Batman Riding His BatPod

Latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, is shining brightly in the box-office. After had a smashing premiere and topping the box-office last week, this week the movie did exactly the same, and even bigger.

This latest Batman installment became the first movie to cross the $300 million mark in just 10 days! According to Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. head of distribution, the movie grossed $75.6 million in its second weekend in theaters, bringing its North American box-office total to $314,245,000, just a little behind from “Iron Man”, who still hold the title as the biggest movie of this year. Batman - The Dark Night

According to studio estimation on Sunday (7/20), Batman’s latest movie, Batman “The Dark Knight” had made a record by earning $155.34 million in its first weekend, topping the previous best of $151.1 million for “Spider-Man 3″ in May 2007 and pacing Hollywood to its biggest weekend ever.

Dan Fellman, head of distribution for Warner Bros., said enthusiastly, “We knew it would be big, but we never expected to dominate the marketplace like we did. The movie should shoot past the $200 million mark by the end of the week”. (more…)
